James Robert Steadman, of Richmond, VA, lived a life of quiet resilience and deep love. At the tender age of 5, his world changed forever when he was struck by a drunk driver, leaving him with lifelong challenges. Yet, despite these hardships, James brought warmth and kindness to all who knew him. For most of his life, he was cared for by his late mother, Fannie Steadman and devoted sister and primary caregiver, Carrie Martin, of Midlothian, VA. He was always embraced by family, whether in her home or nearby in a supportive group home setting.

James lived a simple yet meaningful life, always connected to those who cherished him. James was fully supported and loved dearly by his siblings, Magadalene Watson (Earl) and David Steadman, and was cherished by his late brother, Abel Herndon. Though James never had a family of his own, his siblings ensured he was surrounded by love, care, and connection throughout his life.

In honor of James' memory, the family is seeking support to help with funeral and burial expenses.
