My nephew Jaden was a bright, courageous 6-year-old who faced more challenges in his short life than most do in a lifetime. Even before he was born, Jaden was fighting for a great life. His mama traveled all the way to the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota to give him the best chance, and thanks to her strength and the care he received, Jaden was able to experience so much love and joy.

Born with kidney disease, Jaden began dialysis at just three days old and endured countless surgeries throughout his childhood. Despite these hardships, he never let his illness define him. He was the funniest, sweetest, and most courageous boy, bringing joy and laughter to everyone who met him. Through his dialysis journey, his Nephrology team became like a second family, deeply touched by his spirit and resilience.

On May 10, our family experienced an unimaginable loss. Jaden passed away at 12:08 am due to complications from what was supposed to be a routine outpatient procedure to remove his hemodialysis catheter. We expected him to be discharged the next day, but things took a tragic turn. Faced with impossible decisions, we chose to surround Jaden with love and comfort in his final moments, ensuring he felt the warmth and care of his family.

We are now raising funds to help cover Jaden's funeral and memorial costs. This support will help my sister's family honor Jaden's memory and give him the farewell he deserves. Jaden touched so many lives with his strength and spirit, and even until the end, he was surrounded by people who loved him dearly.
