This fundraiser is to honor the life of Ismael Payan Romero. Words cannot express how deeply this loss is felt in our family. Though our family anticipated that this would be our final year with him, no one can ever fully prepare for such events. We are humbly asking for donations to support the cremation and services that will be held for our beloved Papa. Anything helps and is greatly appreciated.

About Ismael:

Ismael Payan Romero was born in Saucillo, Chihuahua, Mexico on June 12, 1944 and died in his home in San Ysidro, CA on June 28, 2024. He was a husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. In his youth, he was an adventurous person that traveled as far North as Montana and as far South as the Panama Canal. Ismael believed in working hard, while also enjoying the fruits of his labor. He was the type of man who had stories and jokes to share with everyone. He could strike up a conversation with anyone, and later in his life you could frequently find him riding the bus to go meet with his friends for coffee. Some of our fondest memories with him are when he would takes us grandkids to the park, or when he would slow dance with his wife Margarita in the kitchen as breakfast was cooking. During his last months, he expressed his desire to make it to their 50th wedding anniversary, which would’ve been this August.

Our Papa Ismael had so much love to give, and we are heartbroken to be parting with him. He truly was the backbone of this family. Though it is hard to say farewell, he will live on in our hearts, our memories, and our stories as we continue his legacy. QDEP ️
