Help Honor Irma Nidia González's Last Wishes

Donation protected
I am the beloved granddaughter of my grandmother, Irma Nidia González, who devastatingly is in the final stage of dementia, on her last days on earth with us. Braulio González her husband, kids and grandkids have been caring for her at home in Springfield, MA since she was diagnosed seven years ago. I have been assisted with the help of the home health aides with hands on care and support in the final months of my beloved grandmother’s home hospice care. For those who have been fortunate enough to know my Pita, have been blessed to experience the love she has always poured into everyone, and the nurturing, selfless individual she was with everyone she’s ever encountered. She has made such a huge impact on the lives of those whose she’s crossed paths with, and has always left a significant mark wherever she goes.

I am fortunate enough to say that my grandmother, my heart in human form, gets to spend the last days of her life in the comfort of her own home, surrounded by love and dignity with her loved ones. This experience of hospice care battling with a terminal illness has been nothing but heart-wrenching, challenging and exhausting. It is also sacred and meaningful. My loving grandmother was an exceptionally good mother, grandmother, and most of all, caretaker. The ones who know her for who she truly is, have always been drawn to her for her amiable caretaking ways. While I was growing up, right into adulthood, she never failed to give me a feeling of being safe and secure, no matter the circumstances. I am committed to giving that back to her now.

At this point, we have exhausted financial resources and have been found in a point in her transition where we are finding ourselves hesitant on making her final burial arrangements in order to be able to financially fulfill her wishes. This is something I’ve never foreseen myself doing, turning to the public for support in any way. With less than a week of life left expectancy in such a quick turnaround, I am turning to crowdfunding, hoping to facilitate by staying by my dear grandmother’s side, providing care and support to the end of her life. Whether it’s a share, or donation, we appreciate all of the support and love we have received during these difficult times. If you can't make a financial contribution, we are grateful for your love and good energy.

With peace, love, and gratitude.
