The End of a Beautiful 60 Year Love Story

My name is Aaron, and I never imagined I would be writing something like this.

On Thursday, May 28th at 11:27 PM, my grandma passed away, surrounded by the family who loved her more than words can ever express. In her final moments, the last thing my grandma felt in this world was the hands of the two men who loved her most, my grandpa—her husband of 60 years—was by her side holding one hand, and I was holding the other. My wife Amanda was there with us as we said goodbye to the woman who helped shape all of our lives.

For most people, their 50s are a time to start slowing down and enjoying life. For my grandparents, it was the beginning of a whole new chapter. Without hesitation, they adopted six of their grandchildren and raised us as their own. They sacrificed their retirement, their time, their money, and so many of their own dreams to make sure we had a home, stability, and unconditional love.

They never complained. They never asked for recognition. They simply loved us.

Everything I am today is because of the values, strength, and love they poured into me.

Now, my grandpa is facing the unimaginable reality of life without the woman he loved for six decades. They designed and built their home together in the 1970s. It's the house where they raised their family, where grandchildren and great grandchilden grew up, where holidays were celebrated, and where a lifetime of memories were made.

Grandpa is a veteran, a provider, and one of the strongest men I know. But no one should have to carry this burden alone.

We are asking for help with Grandma's funeral expenses and to help grant Grandpas one wish, to remain in the home he and Grandma built together. They lived on a very limited income, and our goal is to relieve him of any financial burden during this difficult time and allow him to spend the rest of his days in the place that holds the story of their life together.

If you knew my grandma, you knew that she was tough but soft at heart. If you know my grandpa, you know loyalty and strength. If you knew them both, you witnessed a love story that lasted over 60 years.

Any donation, no matter how small, means more than I can express. If you cannot donate, sharing this fundraiser and keeping our family in your prayers would mean the world to us.

Thank you for helping us honor my grandma's memory and care for the man who spent a lifetime loving her.
Thank you.
