Help Honor Geraldine Hoyt's Final Wishes

Hi, My name is Allison Hoyt. I am the daughter of a very kindhearted, caring, and giving person, my 95 year old mother, Geraldine (Gerry) Hoyt. She is now very ill and her time is limited to hours.

When my father died in the late 70s my mom paid for a double plot at the cemetery where my father was buried. But, she only paid for the plot, nothing else. Her request for her final wishes is to be buried with him which was always the plan. One problem, you guessed it…money.

Since I am her one and only caregiver I have not worked since May 2022 when she was starting to first get sick from kidney failure so we live on her SS and her small pension, as she retired in 1985. It all adds up to about 28K/yr. She has no Life Insurance.

I would like to honor my mother’s final wishes and get her back to my father, her husband, but I cannot afford to get her body shipped to NY and get her buried when the time comes. It is simply do not have all the funds, but I have some.

So this is what I am asking I am asking to honor my mother’s final wishes and please help me with getting my mom back to her final resting place with her husband. I spoke to the Cemetery in NY and they sent me recent pricing. I spoke to a funeral home in Florida. I am going to try to call funeral homes in NY again the two that I called a few weeks ago did not send me pricing after we spoke.

My mother has had a long lifetime of volunteering since she was young, all the way up to just a couple of years ago when she started to slow down.

She has belonged to several organizations such as:

Order of the Eastern Star, Telephone Pioneers of America, Beta Sigma Phi, Daughters of the American Revolution and more! None in which can help support this fund.

I am including a list of what I have so far for her arrangements so you know where the donations will be going:

Florida: Funeral Home (pick up of body) and Shipping, I believe where we live a 55+ community will allow me to have a Service at their community center at no charge.

Funeral Home and Shipping (Includes Casket): Aprox: $4995.00

MCO to JFK: Aprox $700-$1000.00

New York: Funeral home and Church Service: I still need to work on these costs.

Cemetery: Casket Burial:

 Opening:

• Monday-Friday $2,038

• Saturday $2,695

 Concrete Liner: $894 (29” max. casket width)

And the Engraving on the Plague: aprox $500.00-$1000.00

For me to get up there to bury my mom: Aprox 5 days of: Hotel, food, rental car and gas. I’m just going to say $3000.00
