Gary Bowman was a father to three children—Justice, Dylan, and Sandriana—and a proud grandfather to nine. He leaves behind three sisters and two brothers, nieces and nephews, countless cousins along with many friends and family who will miss him deeply. Gary tragically lost his life after being struck by a train in Fresno on July 12th, 2025, our family found out six weeks later, because he had no ID on him. This sudden loss leaves his loved ones heartbroken and facing unexpected expenses.
Gary cherished the company of friends and family, and he especially enjoyed spending time outdoors. He and his girlfriend of twelve years, Kathy Corwin, would go for walks every day. Gary always got car sick. He loved the lake and found peace working in the solitude of the fields. Gary was fluent in Spanish, both speaking and writing, and he often used his skills to connect with others. He had a creative side, writing music and rap, and he loved being around children—teaching them to sing or play games. On quiet days, Gary liked to snuggle and watch movies, but he also had a wild, adventurous spirit and dreamed of seeing the world. Kathy shares, “I loved Gary, I still do. Like anyone, we had our ups and downs, but most of our twelve years was good. I thank him—when he loved, he loved with his whole heart.”
Now, his loved ones are coming together to honor Gary’s memory and give him the respectful farewell he deserves. The funds raised will help cover the costs of his cremation and a small prayer ceremony at Smith & Sterling Funeral Home in Tulare, California. The date for the ceremony is coming soon, and all those who knew Gary are welcome to join in celebrating his life and legacy.
Any support will help ease the financial burden on his family during this difficult time. Your kindness will ensure Gary is remembered with the dignity and love he showed to others throughout his life.
