Hi everyone! My name is Maggie and I am Eric's cousin. I am creating this fundraiser at the request of Eric's siblings Melinda, Eddie and Jaimee. Below is the statement from his family--

OUR FAMILY NEEDS HELP!

We are asking for help in laying our Eric, who truly enjoyed helping others, to rest.

This morning, Tuesday, September 17, 2024, Heaven gained an angel and we lost a dear brother, uncle, cousin and friend. Eric was born on 7/14/80 and cancer took him from us today after a long, hard fight. He worked hard at his security job until his health no longer allowed him to. His medical insurance was terrible and by the time the cancer was detected, it was Stage 3 and metastasized.

We are not a wealthy family and only have each other. Normally that is enough but these days, you can't afford to live.... or die. We are doing the best we can, scraping together what we can.

Eric was devoted to his family. He was also adamant about helping his Veteran's Post 5806 in Brooklyn. He was not able to serve because of a medical condition so that motivated him to support out troops and their families the best way he could. Through the VFW Auxiliary, he would head fundraisers with his favorite being the bake sales! He could be heard two blocks down yelling "BAKE SALE!!"

Eric will be truly missed by everyone who knew him!!!
