My beloved and brilliant big brother tragically and unexpectedly passed away this month after a prolonged illness. Receiving his undergraduate degree in Mathematics and Philosophy at MIT and a PhD in Mathematics at Berkeley, Dr. Jesse Elliott PhD was a brilliant mathematician, scholar, and professor that we all loved dearly.

As Jesse lived alone across the country, there is a long and challenging road ahead for my family to unravel and resolve the complex entanglements of settling and managing his affairs, belongings, and memorial services. It is going to take multiple trips across the country and lots of effort and expense in order to shoulder the responsibility of cleaning out his house, packing up his belongings, donating things, and making sure his elderly mother gets any mementos that, in some ways, may help to ease the loss of her dearest and beloved son.

The money from this fundraiser will be used to help to mitigate the expenses of transporting sentimental belongings to his mother, lawyer fees, travel expenses, supporting the family financially during this difficult time, and a Celebration of Life that will take place on August 17th in Holyoke, MA.
