My brother, Donald Lathrom, was 84 years old when he passed away on January 21, 2026, in a New York City hospital. He had been sick for a while, but I truly believed he was on the mend, so his passing was both shocking and disorienting. Two years ago Don's long lost daughter, Melina, and I met in New York. She came to meet the father she didn't know existed and I went to meet this newly discovered family member. Melina and I have become fast friends. She has two beautiful grown daughters, Lucinda and Rosalind, expanding our family by 3.
