My wife of only 18 months, Christie, passed Saturday, February 21st after termination of life support 6 days after a severe stroke, leaving a hole in my heart and in the lives of everyone who knew her. Christie was vibrant, intelligent, and bubbly, with a little touch of sass that made every day brighter. She loved fishing with me, spending time at the beach, and breathing in the fresh air by Lake Michigan. Animals brought her so much joy—dogs, cats, and especially turtles always made her smile. Most of all, she loved her children and grandchildren deeply, and her love for them was at the center of her life.
We never expected to be in this position, and we had no life insurance or savings to help with her final expenses. The costs of the funeral, travel for family, and just keeping up with living expenses have become overwhelming. I want to honor Christie’s memory and give her the farewell she deserves, but I can’t do it alone.
To say thank you is not enough, but it’s all I have. I feel rather overwhelmed by it all, so I pray blessings to you, even if it’s fifty cents. Your support, no matter the amount, means the world to me. Thank you, with my love.
