My name is April and I am Brantly’s aunt. Most people who are close to him know him as “Baby D.” He is my sister Ashley’s oldest child and my first nephew. He has always had a big personality and an even bigger heart.

Within the past few years, his health has declined and at only 20 years old, he has CHF (congestive heart failure). On 11/23/24, he was rushed to Scotland Memorial Hospital because he was in pain. After arriving, he coded and was airlifted to Levine’s Children’s Hospital in Charlotte and was placed on life support and then on dialysis after his organs began to shut down. He woke up earlier in the week and was scheduled to have surgery on his heart this morning, but the surgery could not take place due to him bleeding out. The doctors told my sister that the machine was only causing him more harm and pain than it was helping, and she had to make the decision that no mother wants to make, along with honoring his wishes, and took him off the machine around 5:00 pm today. At this time, they are keeping him comfortable.

There is no life insurance in place so at this time, I am asking that if you can, please donate so that he can have the service he deserves. I will be in charge of the account and making his arrangements. Once arrangements are in place, if you would rather donate to the funeral home, I will share that information with you.
