My name is Ronnie Goodwin, and I am writing with a heavy heart to ask for your help on behalf of my father, William “Bill” Goodwin. My dad's life was shaped by both love and hardship. He was a builder, a craftsman, a devoted father, grandfather, and a loyal friend. In his later years, he faced addiction, mental health struggles, and homelessness. Through it all, he remained fiercely independent and deeply committed to his family.
Recently, Bill made the painful decision to end his own life. His passing was sudden, and our family is left grieving and trying to honor his final wishes. Bill asked to be cremated, and for his ashes to be placed with his youngest son Ian Scott Goodwin, my brother, who tragically lost his life in a hit and run in 2007. He wanted a simple placard to mark his resting place, so he could be with family. Our family is scattered across Texas and beyond, and many of us will need to travel to say our goodbyes and fulfill my dad's last request.
We are seeking support to help cover the costs of cremation and a modest memorial placard. Any contribution, no matter how small, will help us give Bill the dignity and peace he deserves. If you are able to support us, we are deeply grateful. If you can share this fundraiser, it would mean so much to our family. Thank you for helping us honor Bill’s memory and for standing with us during this difficult time. Signed his oldest son and close family both blood and chosen.
