On Monday, Sept. 29, Tatyana and Viktoriya lost a son and brother. He was just 47 years old. Anton Oplender was a beautiful soul. He cared deeply about his family, and if he had one mission in life, it was to be helpful to both his family and others. His favorite thing to do was simply to fix anything that needed fixing. He loved trying to solve problems. The saying "he would give you the shirt off his back" doesn't do him justice. He'd give you his shirt before you'd even think to ask.
On July 4th, we were down in San Diego enjoying some fireworks together and I can vividly recall Anton doing what he always did, staying close to his mom to keep her warm because she was cold. That is just who he was, always.
This is a proud family; they wouldn't even want me to do a GoFundMe, but they deserve to give Anton a proper ceremony and to help get their mom on her feet following this tragedy. Any amount is appreciated beyond words.
Any donations will go toward his service and her mom's bills while she figures out how to replace the income that he was bringing in to help pay for their apartment.
