Angel Cruz was more than just my husband’s uncle—he was a constant, loving presence in our home and in our hearts. He split his time between our place and his own, but he was always there for us, especially for our children. Angel helped raise our daughter from the time she was a baby, and to her, he was second only to us, her parents. He played the role of grandfather to our five sons and our daughter, and he became my best friend—someone I could always talk to, who listened without judgment and offered wisdom and kindness. He loved his nephew, my husband, unconditionally, and our children were his world, just as he was ours.

On November 20th, Angel went into cardiac arrest and, tragically, suffered severe brain damage due to lack of oxygen. This has left our family heartbroken and facing a reality we never prepared for. Like many, we took for granted the time we had and didn’t set aside funds for a burial. Now, as we try to honor Angel’s memory and give him the farewell he deserves, we are struggling to cover the costs of his funeral and cremation.
