After my last dog passed, I never thought I’d get a dog again. But the second I picked up Honey, she rested her head on my shoulder, and I knew we were meant to share this chapter of our lives together. She still has a good ten years ahead, and I want her to live them well, happily, and healthily.

Honey is a 6-year-old Australian Cattle Dog mix. She’s a rescue who has brought endless joy to my life and the life of her cousin, a collie who shares her love of keeping squirrels out of the yard.

Honey is playful, loving, and full of personality. She loves to run, chase squirrels, catch bubbles, play tug, and swim. She’s excellent at agility; jumping, tunnels, and following commands, and she melts our hearts with snuggles and her love for the song “You Are My Sunshine, My Only Sunshine.”

Recently, Honey injured her knee. She pulled it and limped, but we hoped it was minor. Unfortunately, the injury was more serious; she has now completely torn her CCL (ACL in humans). This has left her unable to run, jump, or play for the next two weeks. Watching her rest and take medications is hard, but I’m using this time to save and build a fund for the surgery she needs to get back to her energetic, happy self.

The surgery Honey needs to repair her torn CCL is expensive. It's estimated at $5,000–$8,000. Unfortunately, I’m not able to cover the cost on my own. Every contribution will go directly toward Honey’s surgery, anesthesia, medications, and post-op care so she can heal and get back to doing what she loves most.
