My sister Dani's dog Honey was rescued from a struggling neighbor who was trying to put himself into substance abuse recovery. Honey was traumatized from a hard life with this neighbor who mistreated her. Her back legs are crooked and possibly had been broken, and she has a weird bow-legged walk.

The neighbor couldn't tell us who her veterinarian was or whether she's had her shots or how old she is.

We urgently need to take Honey to the vet for x-rays and especially to get all of her vaccinations and get her checked out. We're hoping she doesn't need surgery, but we don't know yet. Other dogs in the area are not vaccinated and some of her neighbors dogs have been bitten! So we want to at least get the shots asap!

She doesn't seem like she's in pain but at the end of the day she licks her back back legs a lot, and from what we googled that sometimes means that there is an injury. Animals hide their pain well and we know she was abused but sometimes they don't show it for fear of being abused again.

It's also important to have all the dog's medical needs up-to-date so my sister could take her with her to her own substance abuse recovery treatment, as that is a requirement for bringing a pet.

Honey means the world to my sister, who has her own struggles but is a true animal lover! She will never let an animal suffer. She's on her own healing journey and doesn't have the funds for the vet bills. They are totally in love with each other and we just want Honey to have the love and care she deserves!
