Help Honey Heal: Support Her Medical Journey

Donation protected
Hello to all friends and family. My family has been going through a difficult time lately. Our youngest baby is very sick. Honey just turned one on April 29th, 2025. She has been in the ICU (staying nights as well) since Monday May 12th, 2025.

Dan and I have been visiting her multiple times daily for hours and discussing treatment and test with her doctors and specialist on the case (a neurologist). They have not been able to figure out what caused her neurological episode that almost took her life. They believe it may be a toxin (if one of our neighbors are using rat poison) or an aggressive infection she unfortunately picked up. We are happy to report our other babies - Penny, Sugar, and Charlottee are healthy as of now. We don't use anything toxic and anyone who knows us know our babies are our world, so it has it been really difficult to pin the source with our medical team.

This all happened very quickly. Dan and I have been relying on each other and close family for emotional support. Currently, Honey's vestibular system is heavily affected (balance and walking/dizziness), and she had 1 mini seizure at the vet yesterday (None since as of 5/14/25!!!) and potentially another when we first rushed her to the ER. Honey is seeming to get better. Hopefully the trend sticks.

Our vet bill alone is close to $4,000, though difficult, we feel we can take on together, but the neurologist is wanting to do an MRI ($3,200), amongst other tests. We are going to start with the MRI and see where it takes us. Hopefully they find the answers they need with the MRI to get a diagnosis and between the labs, fluids, steroids, antibiotics, and Keppra (3 pills daily the rest of her life) she will make a recovery. The doctor said she has seen dogs with vestibular problems resolve in weeks. I'm hoping for our little car sick queen, this is the case.

We are confident in our baby and are willing to fight for her as long as she wants to fight (And the risks vs rewards are balanced - we are always putting her quality of life as the top priority). If her labs are good and we get approved from the neurologist we might be able to take her home tomorrow (05/14/2025). We have her family vet involved and tracking (visits planned). Her sisters miss her so much. We all do.

It seems like this medical road may be a long and expensive one but from how poor honeys health was a few days ago to now is such a difference. We have so much faith in her. So, if you are able to and would like to help support our little family, Dan and I would be grateful from the bottom of our hearts.

Please only donate if you are able to. The last thing we would want is to put anyone in a compromising position. Thank you all for your love and time. Please share <3
