I’m starting this GoFundMe because my dog Honey has torn her CCL in her left leg (similar to an ACL tear for us). As many of you know, this type of surgery is expensive, and I’m needing help to cover the cost of the procedure, medications, follow-ups, and the additional items she’ll need during recovery.

If you know me at all, you know how much I love animals. I’ve worked with dogs and cats for 10 years, and caring for them has become a huge part of who I am. I love my work animals so much — and I love my own pets even more. Honey is only 6 years old and otherwise very healthy. This surgery is necessary for her to continue living a happy, comfortable life, and I’ll do whatever it takes for my furry girls, Honey and Ella.

Siouxland Animal Hospital will be doing her surgery on December 17th where she will spend the night. Recovery times will vary but typically it is about 8-12 weeks for the initial healing and by 16 weeks she should be back to doing normal activities that she loves. They say full strength and mobility can take longer like 6 months. 

I want to add that asking for help is really hard for me, and this isn’t something I take lightly. But Honey means the world to me, and I’m doing everything I can to make sure she gets the care she needs.
