Honey is my 8-year-old Labrador and the sweetest girl you could ever meet. Her favorite thing in the world is people—she would do anything for a gentle pet and always chooses company over food. When she was a puppy, she loved to lay on top of me as I lay down to nap, always wanting to be as close as possible. I’ll never forget the time I took her to the dog park and, instead of playing with the other dogs, I found her sitting on a bench with a stranger, soaking up all the love and attention. She’s always been happiest cuddling up with someone, spreading joy wherever she goes.
Recently, our world was turned upside down when Honey was diagnosed with DKA, a severe and life-threatening form of diabetes. The news was shocking and heartbreaking. The vet told us we only have a couple of days to decide between euthanasia or giving her a chance at treatment. The cost of emergency care is overwhelming, but I want to do everything possible to help Honey fight through this and keep sharing her love with everyone she meets.
Any support you can give would mean the world to us. Please help us give Honey the fighting chance she deserves. Thank you for reading and for caring about our sweet girl.
