The Homminga Family really needs your help!

Amy Homminga (my little sister) was born with Spina Bifida (birth defect of the spine with major nerve damage) and Hydrocephalus (water on the brain), is paralyzed from her knees down and has nearly died so many times I lost count. In her mid 40’s now, she is a living medical miracle! She has lived a life of physical struggle but has been gifted an amazing husband, Jason, and a very special son, Andy.

Amy’s health has always been a rollercoaster ride, but the last two years have been so downhill with many months spent in the hospital that the medical bills and strain on the family have left them in financial turmoil.

Amy now faces Stage 4 Kidney failure and faces possible transplant surgery. To aid her body, doctors did a bladder augmentation surgery on July 13, 2021… to which she has been back in the hospital off and on with major complications. It’s been a scary ride.

Divinely, Jason’s profession is home healthcare, so instead of working for other patients, he is taking care of his wife and son. Due to this though, the Homminga Family has little income. With the escalating medical bills and other seemingly unending healthcare expenses, they are in financial crisis.

Amy is an AMAZING mom and Andy needs her!!! He is a brilliant autistic teenager who helps as he can but has his own special needs. Amy worked in her son’s school until her health began to fail but does what she can from bed. On social media, Amy continues to inspire others to live life to the fullest no matter what obstacles are put in their way.
