Help HOMEMADE JEAN SHORTS put on their first show

Bonjour all. My name is Lily Marcheschi, pleasure to meet you. I am starting up a small theatre something or other, currently called “Homemade Jean Shorts,” and I need some help putting up our first production! “Horse Girls” by Jenny Rachel Weiner is a coming of age story one could say. This one act dark comedy is about middle schools girls, deception, and how the selling of a little girls family stables throws the “Lady Jean Ladies” club into complete disarray.

As a recent graduate and actor trying to make it in New York, I have found myself muttering recently (both to myself and any poor tourist who gets sat in my section at work) just how much I miss being on stage, and how much I want to be cast in something. Well, why should we wait for someone else to cast us? Let’s do it ourselves I say! So that is what this is. The first step in creating a company, institute, or what have you, that allows actors and recent graduates to have a playground to do what they love to do. A break from the grind, and an opportunity to walk on a grid and do Suzuki squats, but for an actual audience.

The money donated to this project will go towards renting out props, rehearsal/performance space, scripts, and anything leftover that we make will go towards paying our actors. Anyone who makes a donation will get a shoutout in our program, and heck, whoever gives the biggest donation will get a one of a kind, originally painting, crafted by stage manager and moi. It will be beautiful.
