Help Homeless Dogs in Puerto Rico

Hi friends!

In less than 5 weeks, I will be competing in the 70.3 Ironman Puerto Rico. This grueling triathlon consists of a 1.2 mile swim, a windy 56 mile bike ride, and then a hot 13.1 mile run.

Believe it or not, this is only a small part of the challenge.  For me, this is so much more than a race. This is my chance to help the homeless dogs of Puerto Rico, and I’m asking you to join me.

Why does this triathlete care about the dogs, you ask?  Here’s WHY.

I’ve always been a dog lover. This made it impossible to ignore the huge number of homeless dogs and the horrible conditions they endured when I competed on the island for the first time in 2016.

I left the island wishing I could do more, but what could I do?

Well, fate was at work. The day after I got home, I was told that a local rescue group was looking for someone to foster a dog from Puerto Rico. Of course, I said YES!

Any apprehension I had about fostering a dog from the streets disappeared the minute I met Chica. She is the sweetest, most loving dog on the planet. Within 24 hours, I notified the rescue group that she wasn’t going anywhere. She was already a part of my family. And she became my inspiration.

There is a huge population of homeless dogs in Puerto Rico, and I am fighting for them to have the same chance at a wonderful life that Chica was lucky enough to get.

With your donation and your support, we can change the lives of so many dogs that deserve to have safety, food, homes, and, most importantly, families that love them.

The money I raise will be given directly to rescuers in Puerto Rico who I know personally – those who saved Chica (and many more). They give endless hours and use their own money to save these dogs. With your help, these wonderful rescuers will be able to pay vet bills, buy food, and provide these deserving animals with basic needs. And eventually, they will be sent to the U.S. to find their forever homes!

Please consider donating, no amount is ever too small.

And . . . if you’re looking to adopt a dog, please consider adopting a “Sato” (slang for mutt or homeless dog in PR). I can help you find one!
