Help Homeless Cancer Survivor and Pup Find a Home

Hi, my name is Karen. I am fundraising for my sweet friend, Carla Chrzan.
 
Carla is a Cancer survivor and she and her loving dog are homeless during COVID.
 

This GoFundMe is needed to help pay for housing, living expenses, healing and recovery treatment-related expenses, plus dog walks for Luna (due to her weakness and chronic pain, she needs all the help she can get). :)
 
On April 20, 2018, Carla woke up with flu-like symptoms, and she was unable to move her legs. For the next 4 days, she felt like she was going to die: fever of 104 degrees, migraine, and burning through her muscles.
 
For the next 2+ years, Carla tried to find answers by seeing 8 specialists, undergoing numerous CT scans, MRIs, blood tests, colonoscopy, muscle biopsy, mammograms...
 
The mammogram was clean, but because she continued struggling, her GP sent her to have an MRI; on December 18th, 2020, where they ACCIDENTALLY found two types of cancer, a different type of cancer in each breast! This is very unusual, to say the least.
 
To say this was a shock is an understatement. You see, Carla is a health nut. She eats organic and was gluten-free before it was chic, and never smoked and only had the occasional gin & tonic.
 
She’s a healer, coach, entrepreneur, artist, dog mom and anyone who knows her knows what a pure loving and magical human being Carla is, a warrior for love and light and truth.
 

She has a strong faith and followed her intuition to get a double mastectomy. Both sides of her family have a history of breast cancer. She embraced the sacrifice as a healing experience. Not just for her but for her family and anyone she can inspire.


The ever optimist, she thought she’d get back to working with her clients in just a couple of weeks. Little did she know that her body would continue to struggle and experience intense pain daily, preventing her from working.
 
She has recently been diagnosed with POTS, dermatomyositis, and Mast Cell Activation Syndrome.
 
Some of her descriptions of her daily sensations:
* Fire rushing through her veins
* Muscle weakness and burning * Iron-bra Syndrome - feels like there’s an iron bar pressing across her chest
limiting her breathing
* Migraines
* Neck locking up
* Mastectomy scars keloids = pull the skin so tight it hurts to touch
* Cellular flu
 
Because of the unpredictability of her symptoms, she has been unable to return to work; bills continue to pile up, and she’s depleted her savings. She is in the process of appealing for disability. Yes, she has been DENIED for disability, even though she cannot work.
The incredible healing work she has been providing her clients has been put on hold until her own body can be healed. Living under constant worry and stress is surely slowing her ability to recover.

She lives alone with her soulful dog, Luna, and needs our support.
 
As if her situation wasn't challenging enough, while she was healing from her surgery, the house she lived in was sold, and she's been homeless ever since August 2021!
 
She has tried to do it all on her own and has finally realized that she needs help. As if COVID wasn't traumatizing enough, this has been an incredibly traumatic time in her life; every area has crumbled beneath her. Carla is financially at the end of her rope and physically and mentally exhausted.

Carla & Luna need a home, a healing lily pad, with the security of knowing her expenses are covered, and they need our help to make it happen. Between her health issues, having a pit bull, and the insane rental market, she needs to come to the table with a year's worth of rent upfront even to be considered.

There are many days this Community Warrior is unable to get out of bed, let alone work with clients, create art (www.carlachrzan.com), or even walk Luna, her beautiful dog.
 
In time, she wants to own a home and convert it to a healing house for others but first, let’s get her a healing Lilly Pad for the next year or 2 to allow her nervous system to relax and feel held & supported.

Let’s get her back to being a healing force in the world! She knows powerful art will come through her when she has space to expand, root down, and channel the Divine energy.
 
I’ve known Carla for a while and have always enjoyed her natural warmth, love, strength, compassion and intuition. If anyone deserves to receive support during this traumatic time, it’s her.
 
My goal is $43,000 to allow her to live comfortably for at least the next year. Her need is urgent. She needs to move in the next month.
