My parents are facing a difficult journey after the recent passing of my grandmother, my dad’s mom. We lost her two weeks ago and now my parents are preparing to drive 19 hours from Chico, California to Sheridan, Wyoming next week. The trip is not just about distance—it’s about the emotional and physical work of cleaning, organizing, moving belongings, and making arrangements with the funeral home. My dad, the oldest of five siblings, is taking on the majority of these responsibilities.
This trip comes after he already spent four weeks away from his family while his mom was in the hospital. He returned home just a week before she passed, and now he must go back to help prepare for probate. Unfortunately, nothing was prepared for her passing, which has made things even more challenging for our family. The costs of gas, hotel stays, and other travel expenses are adding up quickly, and they may also need to cover storage for the next month if necessary.
As hard as it is to ask for help, I am reaching out for support during this difficult time. Any contribution, no matter the size, will help ease the financial burden and allow my parents to focus on what matters most—honoring grandma Anne’s memory and supporting each other. Your kindness and generosity would mean the world to us as we navigate this challenging chapter.
We truly love and appreciate you all!❤️
