Hello everyone, my name is Rebecca and I’m starting this GoFundMe for my mom Holly Shannon. What was supposed to be a simple hernia surgery quickly turned into a medical nightmare. Complications led to three surgeries and an ongoing, undetermined stay in the ICU. Every day is a battle against infection caused by sepsis, along with intense pain management. At this time, our mom cannot speak for herself.

If you know our mom, you know her heart. For the past four years, she has been raising her four young grandchildren, two of whom she took in directly from the hospital at birth. These boys have never been without her, and now they are scared and anxious. Grandma has been gone for two weeks, and they haven’t been able to see her.

My siblings and I have made sure she is never alone. Someone is with her 24/7, most often my brother, who brings her the most comfort just by being there. Because of this, he has been unable to work for two weeks, and I have also missed several days of work.

Bills are piling up, and with Christmas here, we are asking for help. Donations will go toward covering her household bills, supporting the care of the boys, and making sure they can still have a Christmas filled with hope while they wait for their grandma to come home.
