Holly's stroke recovery assistance
Donation protected
Hello
My name is Matthew Jourdanais. This fundraiser is for my 33 year old sister holly who has been through so much already.
Thursday June 10th, 2021 at 6:51pm holly gave me a call stating she wasn't feeling well. Her speech was slurred and she was hard to understand. I asked her where she was located and what was going on. "I'm at the bottom of the hill. I don't know what's wrong" she said. I told her I'd be right there. Hearing her voice I immediately thought stroke. I called one of my friends who is an EMT to meet me. When I got to her my concern was realized. She had no movement of her left side with a slight droop to her face. She was driving when it initially started and safely got herself off the road. I asked what was wrong again and she said she didn't know. I knew from looking at her I was not putting her in my vehicle to go to the hospital. I called 911. While waiting for emergency services to show up my friend arrived and started what care she could. She confirmed my suspicion. A short time later the fire department arrived and initiated care until an ambulance got on scene. They rushed her to Albany Medical Center where that night she underwent two operations to stop a brain bleed and remove a clot. She may end up paralyzed on her left side. At one point it was unsure if she would survive. At this time she remains in critical but improving condition. She may not be home for 6 months. Proceeds will go directly to hollys recovery expenses and any possible modifications. All left over will go to the Stroke unit at Albany Medical Center. Holly is a great daughter, sister, friend, aunt, and girlfriend. Any donation will be greatly appreciated. Our family thanks you all for your love and support as we go through this difficult time.
