Help Holly The Whippet

Hi, my name is Holly a 14 month year old Whippet. I was walking in my local park when another dog snapped at me. He took a big chunk out of my back leg and tail. It really hurt. My owner rushed me to the vets. The wound was so big they had to put a drain in my leg and take skin from my tummy to patch it up. Once the stiches burst and they had to do another operation. I was in the vets for several days and I really missed my mum and dad. Once I got out I couldn't do much as I was in a cone and my leg needed to recover. Later on my tail got infected and I had to go back to the vets. They had to cut some of my tail off which made me really sad. I have to wear a cone till my tail and leg recover. All I want to do is run round with my friends.

Hi, we are Holly's owners, Alec and Theresa. We can't put into words the trauma this attack has caused. I am sure many of you know the kind, gentle temperament of a whippet so for another dog to attack our Holly is just horrendous. Holly has been in and out of the vets over the last few months and had 5 operations so far. A lot for a young pup to go through. Unfortunately the costs to date are in excess of £10,700. We are insured but it will only cover up to £4250. We did have a pot of money for Holly but that has been used up already. We never expected anything like this could happen to our precious 11 month old pup. We have tried to talk to the other dog owner but thet are not responding to our messages. We have contacted the police about but they said there is nothing they can do.
