Help Hollie regain independence.

Hi there, My name is Nikki and I am fundraising for a friend of mine who is only 19 from Cardiff. Hollie until last year led an active, independent, busy life and was planning to go to university. A year ago she became unwell with a severe kidney infection that turned into sepsis. Hollie has now been left with seizures and right-sided paralysis due to two cardiac arrests and spent six months in hospital in 2020 with her family not knowing if she would come home at all at some points.

Although Hollie has been home since December 2020 she is confined to her hospital bed and specially adapted wheelchair in the living room of her family home as her mobility is so badly affected. Hollie is still regularly taken into hospital due to the severity of some of her seizures and has had to be admitted to ITU numerous times with the longest being nearly 3 weeks on life support.

She now requires 24/7 care and help with just the most basic of tasks.

There are plans in the process to build Hollie a self-contained extension on her family home, which will give her the privacy and dignity that all young adults require and want.

I am hoping this fundraising page will help Hollie achieve money to:

• Decorate and personalize her extension.
• Make her garden more disabled friendly.
• Have private rehabilitation due to the NHS physios closing her case.
• Day trips and holiday with her family and also carers to give her family a break.
• Debrillator that Hollie can have with her at all times.

Any donations will be greatly appreciated to help this young woman and her family.

After going through all this Hollie still tries to remain as upbeat and positive as possible and has started campaigning to get better young disabled adults facilities throughout the country.
