Holly Carpentier lost her home to the Carr Fire in July 2018.
This is what it looks like now.
Holly Carpentier has many of the attributes of a hero, yet is the most humble person I know. Just after seeing her house burn down (https://www.instagram.com/p/Blvb7WhhsW5/ ), she still went to work at the animal shelter to care for the hundreds of pets displaced by the blaze.
Besides working as Behavior Specialist at Haven Humane Society, she is the founder and hard working head of the nonprofit Shasta Dogs (http://shastadogs.com/ ) who has helped hundreds of local dog owners find resources and recreation for their pets.
She is the volunteer Team trainer for Shasta County K9 Search and Rescue, helping others in their times of greatest need.
Also benefiting from her fantastic training skills have been many a high drive dog of difficult breeds. They get fostered, trained, socialized and loved, then are placed in forever loving homes.
She is an inspiration to her church, a kid camp counselor, piano & cello teacher, longtime volunteer of the kayak program at Whiskeytown Lake, and a witty and engaging writer.
Holly is an artist, painter, and creator of beautiful works, a craftsman with her own Etsy shop, and an accomplished Cello player with live performances and CDs.
Her two Belgian Malinois' love that she is an avid hiker of the scenic surrounding areas where many have been lucky to accompany her.
But to me, she is an amazing friend, always caring about others and making them feel important and valued. I am so sad for her loss of her house, her original paintings, tools used to make creations for her shop, cello & piano music, and dog sport equipment that she has worked so hard to get.
Can you please share a little to help this young community builder rebuild her life? Thank you for your generosity! <3
If you prefer not to do online donations, gift cards or checks (and cello sheetmusic!) can be mailed to
