Hi, my name is Kristin Martin. In 2020, I started a new position and was lucky enough to have Holly Lightfoot as my trainer and counterpart. Who knew that person would go on to become one of my very best friends? From day one, Holly’s kindness, scarcasm, and sense of humor shined through — she’s truly one of those rare people who make everyone around them better.
Holly is a devoted mom of four beautiful children and the beloved wife of Granite City Police Officer, Bryndan Lightfoot. She’s always the first to help others, to give without being asked, and to show up when people need her most. Now, it’s our turn to be there for her.
In August 2025, Holly received news that turned her world upside down — she was diagnosed with ductal carcinoma, a form of breast cancer. Thankfully, it was caught early, but because it’s hormone-driven, her doctors have recommended a double mastectomy.
Her first surgery is scheduled for November 14th, followed by a recovery period of 4–8 weeks. About three months later, she’ll undergo a reconstruction surgery, and then a final grafting procedure three months after that.
While insurance will cover her medical treatments, Holly will only receive 60% of her regular pay while she’s on short-term medical leave. With four kids at home, household expenses, and the holidays quickly approaching, this has created an overwhelming financial strain for their family.
Holly and Bryndan have always been there for their friends, family, and community — constantly giving, supporting, and showing up when others need it most. Now, it’s our turn to give back. Let’s rally around them and help lift some of that burden so they can focus on what truly matters — Holly’s healing, her family, and finding peace and comfort during this season.
Every donation, share, and kind word makes a difference. Thank you all for wrapping the Lightfoot family in love and support as they navigate this difficult journey — especially with the holidays just around the corner.
