Help Holly Holmquist Overcome Cancer Again

Holly Holmquist is in need of our help! You may know her from being a supportive member of our Medical Lake community, and the face of one of our town's financial institutions. She is our neighbor, coworker, confidant, and most importantly, our FRIEND!

She was recently diagnosed with a reoccurrence of breast cancer. In 2019 she was diagnosed with the early stages of breast cancer where she opted for a double mastectomy to remove the tumor. They found it early enough that Holly and her care team decided the surgery would be the best way to remove the cancer and give her the lowest chances for it to come back. However, she recently found out that she is among the 4% of cancer survivors to have a reoccurrence after surgery and that there are now three aggressive tumors threatening her life.

Due to the cancer's advancement, she has taken a leave of absence from work to complete chemotherapy, radiation, and surgery again. She has already suffered financial loss from this whole situation which will only increase through this process. Through FMLA she will receive only a portion of her income, and her medical bills are adding up by the day.

Ivy, thank you so much for putting this together. Yes, folks, despite my double mastectomy in 2019, breast cancer insists on dancing with me. Though the cancer is somewhat advanced, it is highly treatable. It is just going to take time patience and prayers. Recovery is 6 to 8 months with chemo, radiation, and surgeries. I have a wonderful job with great benefits and a highly supportive organization. There will be a gap between deductibles for 2024 and 2025 and time out of work. These funds will go to closing that financial gap for me. For those who wish to contribute, this is a great avenue for support. All healing prayers and thoughts are welcome. God's abundance has been felt my entire life, I have no doubt this situation will be more of the same.
