Help Holly Heal After Life-Saving Cancer Surgery
Organized by Joan Dayton — Holly’s longtime friend. All funds will go directly toward Holly’s medical, recovery, and in-home care expenses.
Holly’s Story
Our dear friend Holly is facing the toughest challenge of her life — and we’re rallying to help her heal.
If you know Holly, you know her heart. She’s the first to lend a hand, the one who shows up with a warm meal when someone’s struggling, and the person who would give you the shirt off her back. Holly has spent her entire life caring for others — and now she’s facing a battle that none of us can face alone.
Just one month ago, Holly was diagnosed with stage 4 squamous cell cancer of the sinuses, a rare and aggressive form that requires a team of specialists, a neurosurgeon and a sinus and rhinology surgeon to remove a large tumor. Her surgery will be extensive and may involve a craniofacial resection to fully remove the cancer. Afterward, she’ll face 6–8 weeks of radiation therapy, followed by chemotherapy and later, major reconstructive surgeries to restore facial structure.
This is a long, complex, and deeply courageous journey. But the good news is, Holly’s prognosis is strong. Her doctors are optimistic that she can make a full recovery. Still, the road ahead will take every ounce of her strength, patience, and faith.
Holly’s Courage
Even as she prepares for this life-changing surgery, Holly continues to show the same humor, grace, and kindness that define her. She’s determined to beat this, not just for herself, but for the people she loves. Every nurse, doctor, and friend who meets her feels that same light and spirit.
She’ll be in the hospital for roughly 10 days, and her full recovery could take nine months or more. Throughout this time, she will not be able to work, and she’ll need significant in-home care and ongoing therapy as she heals.
Why Your Help Matters
Holly and her husband have always been a strong team, working hard and supporting each other through everything life throws their way. But now, their household income has been cut in half while medical bills and care expenses are climbing rapidly. Her disability income only covers a small portion of her salary, and the costs ahead — from surgery to radiation, chemotherapy, in-home care, and reconstruction are overwhelming.
This GoFundMe aims to raise $100,000 to help cover:
• Out-of-pocket medical costs and hospital bills
• Home health care and rehabilitation expenses
• Travel and lodging costs during treatments
• Lost wages and day-to-day living needs
Your generosity will give Holly the gift of focusing on healing — without the crushing financial stress that no one battling cancer should have to carry.
