My name is Holly and I'm the founder, owner, & operator of HS Music Accessories LLC, a small musical instrument store located in Arkansas. On Sunday, August 24th, while I was at church singing & playing instruments, I got a call that there had been an accident at my store. Although my store is closed on Sundays, I was in panic mode because I was unsure if my husband had stopped by the store & was hurt, or if someone else was hurt. No one was injured when I arrived; however, it was an unsettling sight. A driver had somehow crashed their vehicle into my store and the damage was significant. The impact destroyed the front windows/door, the front wall, and many of my instruments inside, forcing me to shut down temporarily & board up the front entry way. Thankfully the crash didn't happen 30 minutes to an hour later, or I would have been inside putting up instruments after church service. Although I'm very grateful that there were no injuries & my loved ones were safe, this incident happened at a bad time for me. I was preparing to have my grand opening in September, which now has to be pushed back indefinitely. August, which begins marching band season, is a very important time of year for my store. Students & parents had started coming in to purchase band instruments & accessories, but that has come to a halt. I had to cancel future lessons with students because the piano & electric keyboard I'd be using to teach with are damaged & have glass/debris in between the keys. Revenue for my business has slowed down significantly due to having to operate online only. On top of that, after starting the claim with the vehicle owner's insurance, I was assigned an adjuster & began uploading photos/videos of the damage to the claims portal... then suddenly I received a call from the insurance adjuster informing me that the driver's insurance policy was not active at the time of the incident & there is nothing else they can do in regards to the claim. Before this incident occurred, myself & my husband put a lot of hard work into DIY projects, even hiring a contractor for the more difficult renovations in order to bring my vision to life. Some family & friends pitched in to help with DIY projects as well. Unfortunately, the cost of repairs, replacing damaged equipment, and daily operational cost have been taking a toll financially. While we're trying to figure out the next steps to keep my business afloat, I am asking for your support to help save my business, so that I can fully reopen & continue serving our community. Anyone who knows me, knows that I am very passionate about helping others & sharing my God-given gifts. HS Music Accessories is quickly becoming more than just a business—it’s a space where musicians of all levels & backgrounds can come together through music, whether it's purchasing instruments, gig practice, lessons, or swapping musical knowledge/experiences. My hope is to continue sharing my passion & love of music to others! Every donation, no matter the size, makes a difference. We truly appreciate the prayers, kindness, and encouragement!
