Help Hollis Afford a Disability Aid for Work
Donation protected
Hey, I'm Hollis. For the last year I've been struggling with weakness in my hands (diagnosis pending), that extends to pain and soreness in my back and arms. After several months of therapy and resting I've regained most functionality of my left hand, but the right is still out of commission.
My job requires a lot of typing. For the last couple months my managers have graciously allowed me to perform modified duties, but as of tomorrow I need to return to work. I'm scared to mess up my right hand even further, but I also really, really don't want to lose this job.
So that's where I ask for money on the internet. I'd like to buy a specialty one-hand keyboard, something that will allow me to keep working without use of my right hand. Unfortunately most go for around $500 USD, and I don't have the kind of cash to drop on that right now. (I'd ask work to pay for it but going through their disability benefits provider has already been hell, and I don't wanna push it.)
I feel bad asking for help with this, but if it works it'll massively boost my quality of life, and save me from having to find a new job.
Thank you for taking the time to read this, I appreciate it.
