On October 20th, our dear friend and colleague Holger faced a life-altering moment. He was rushed to the ER with extreme headaches, and it was there we learned the unimaginable—he had suffered a brain aneurysm. The doctors told us how incredibly lucky he was to have survived, and it was a sobering reminder of how fragile and precious life truly is.
Holger’s resilience is nothing short of extraordinary, and we are profoundly grateful that he is still here with us today. Life works in mysterious ways, and this experience has only deepened our appreciation for him. Chavez, as many of us call him, has touched all of our lives in countless ways. He is a true pillar of strength—a tough cookie with a heart of gold. Holger is the kind of person who never hesitates to lend a helping hand to those in need, always putting others before himself.
Now, he needs us. Holger will be out of work for the next 3–4 months as he focuses on his recovery. He’s undergoing occupational and physical therapy twice a week, which, as you can imagine, comes with significant costs. These out-of-pocket expenses have begun to accumulate, and we’re hoping to rally together to ease this burden for him.
We’re asking for a little extra help today to support Holger as he finds his strength again. By alleviating the weight of these medical expenses, we can allow him to focus entirely on his recovery and getting back to doing what he loves—cooking in the kitchen alongside his friends and family.
Your generosity, no matter the size, means the world to us. It’s a testament to the strength of community and the love we share for one another.
Take a moment today to hug your loved ones a little tighter, be kind to yourself and your body, and never take your health for granted. Life is such a gift, and it’s the small, everyday moments that remind us of its beauty. Make those annual checkups a priority—they truly matter.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for your kindness, your generosity, and your love.
With gratitude,
La Familia Chávez
