Help Holden Make It Home!

Hello! We are the Farrs- Ashley, Ben, Baen, and our new addition, baby Holden. Holden has had a rough start. When I was 24 weeks pregnant he was diagnosed with hydrops, a very rare and fatal condition which fills a baby with fluid and essentially stops the organs from developing and stopping his heart. I was taken into surgery two days later where our incredible doctor put stints into the fetus to help him drain the fluid on his own.

At 27 weeks, part of the membrane fell from the wall and became life-threatening for Holden so Ashley was sent to the hospital to be monitored 24/7 for two weeks straight.

After being sent home from the hospital, Ashley was going into her doctor to be monitored and screened daily. After her third day home, the placenta ripped from the wall causing her water to break and blood to gush out as well. An emergency c-section was performed and Holden was taken straight to the NICU.

He is very sick and fighting for his life. Fluid has continued to build up and his lungs are incredibly fragile. He had coded once and we thought we lost him but he came back and had continued to get better. He will also need surgery soon to remove one of the stints that unfortunately went into his chest cavity. We know there will be ups and downs as we go through this process. Holden will likely be in the NICU for several months, trying to grow and develop more as well as fight off his fatal condition.

The medical bills are astronomical and thankfully we have insurance but our deductible is high. We both work, but because of my pregnancy complications, I’ve had to stay off my feet and not work which takes away half our income. The money would help us pay our deductible, make up for some of my income, and relieve stress about paying our bills and mortgage as we try to take care of ourselves so we can be there for Holden.
