Help Holcomb Custom Woodwork Fire Restoration and Rebuild

Howdy, my name is Schuyler Holcomb and I’m making a GoFundMe for my Dad, Kevin Holcomb. My Dad own’s his own carpentry business (Holcomb Custom Woodwork) in Wimberley, Texas. Tuesday morning of this last week (June 11th, 2024) he pulled up to his woodworking shop just after 6am to find smoke pouring from around the overhead door and flames seen through a window into his shop. His newer shop had caught fire!

My Dad called 911 with a rapid response from Wimberley Fire Rescue. WFR E42 arrived on scene making a quick attack and knock down on the fire; Putting it out and kept the building from being a total loss!

Being a Firefighter/Paramedic myself, I am grateful for having a reliable Fire department in my own hometown, when life inevitably happens! The fire is still under investigation about what started it, but most everything in the building will be a loss.

This shop was my Dad’s office and custom woodworking shop. He had several large (and expensive) pieces of equipment, customers projects, his computer, and then not to mention all the restoration/repair the shop will need itself. My Dad being a small business owner, is going to take a big hit from all of this. My heart breaks for my dad, but both him and I have a peace that surpasses all understanding because we have faith in God, and know that He’ll get us through this! “For our present troubles are small and won’t last very long. Yet they produce for us a glory that vastly outweighs them and will last forever! So we don’t look at the troubles we can see now; rather, we fix our gaze on things that cannot be seen. For the things we see now will soon be gone, but the things we cannot see will last forever.” ‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭4‬:‭17‬-‭18‬.

My Dad has been in the woodworking business for over 40 years, living out the saying, “Find a job you love, and you’ll never work a day in your life”, but he easily puts over 40 hours (probably close to 70 hours) a week into his business. He truly loves what he does and making peoples dreams a reality!

I know my Dad well enough, that he would never ask for money from anyone, but I am asking because He needs our help to keep his business running and restore his shop. So on this Father’s Day I am asking for support to help the most selfless man I know and have the honor/ privilege to call Dad or Pops. Please consider both supporting him prayerfully or financially!
