Hey, my name is Hoda Attia and I am raising money on behalf of my cousin in Egypt.

Over the last week my beautiful cousin has been admitted to the hospital and in and out of ICU. Her immunity shut down and shes losing an immense amount of blood. On Friday April 26 2024, we didn't think she would make it and her family drove for 7 hours to find a hospital to admit her. Unfortunately she doesn't have insurance and public healthcare causes more deaths than lives saved in Egypt.

As she is the jewel of our eye, we had no options than sending her to a private hospital even without insurance. The difficulty is in the medical bills and the room she has to stay in. Unlike in the west, you pay daily in Egypt. costing a whopping 15,000LE (Egyptian pounds) which equates to $314 USD/night, or $428/CAD.

Our family from across the globe have been rallying together to cover these costs, however, without any clear diagnosis and her not getting much better, we do not know how long she will be there.

She has two young daughters, two little grandchildren and a wonderful husband.

Unfortunately, these bills are too much for anyone to bare, especially in the Egyptian economy.

I am hoping we can raise some money to help her during this very difficult time so she can focus on recovery and not her medical bills. We do not want the money to run out and are forced to send her to a public hospital that can potentially cost her life.
