My name is Hoda, a 22-year-old girl. Like all girls, I had a simple dream: to live safely with my family, to study, to celebrate my little sister's birthday, to be the same as I was before that moment that changed everything.

All I remember from my life is the sound of the explosion, the moment our house was bombed while we were inside. We were ten people under one roof. The roof collapsed on our heads, taking in a single moment the most precious things in my life: my little sister, who was waiting for her birthday, and my big brother, who was my support and the support of the family. They are gone forever, and the pain within us will not go away.

I survived, and some of my family did, but with bodies laden with wounds and broken hearts. My injury was critical: a fractured skull, and I was in a coma for a whole month. I woke up to face the most difficult reality: that I had lost two of my loved ones forever, and that I now faced a new battle, a battle for survival.

Today, I live with half a skull, the back of my head missing, and I need an urgent skull transplant to protect me from any life-threatening danger.
