Hello, I'm Katherine H-F, a long time peace activist and Rotary Peace Fellow based in the US who trained members of the Palestinian Youth Advisory Panel prior to Oct. 7 2023. I have launched this Gofundme appeal with other colleagues and friends of Hmaid ilving outside Gaza.

Hmaid, a community youth leader and YAP member trapped in Gaza sends this personal message:

" I have always believed that dignity is the most precious thing a human can have until this genocide. I've now lost my home and eveyrthing I owned and been displaced numerous times. My father, our sole provider, was killed last year, and as the eldest son, I took on the responsibility of providing for my family including my Mom and 9 siblings. I lost my job and was shot in the leg last week seeking food.

I have never asked for financial help before and supported many community members with projects and mutual aid, but I'm now desperate to keep my family alive and I'm appealing to your generosity and solidarity to get us through this horrible war. I will never forget your support at the most terrible time in my life."

All funds raised will be transferred directly to Hmaid and used for food, medicine and water which are available only at exhorbitant prices.
