Our Story
My name is Casaundra Haney, and I co-founded H&L Restoration in San Jose, California back in 2013. At just 26 years old, I built this woman‑owned business from the ground up with determination, faith, and a commitment to serving families in crisis. For over 13 years, we’ve been the team that shows up after floods, fires, mold outbreaks, and catastrophic losses — helping restore not just homes, but hope.
We are not a franchise or a corporation. We are a local business, and right now, we are fighting to survive.
During COVID, I took out an Economic Injury Disaster Loan Government (EIDL) to Service the Santa Cruz CZU wildfire victims and keep our employees Employed. For years, we thrived — hiring skilled workers, paying above‑average wages, and serving our community. But today, the economy is unstable, consumer confidence has dropped, and the insurance industry that makes up 80% of our business is in turmoil.
To make matters worse, the SBA hardship program we relied on was terminated. I’ve exhausted my savings to keep H&L Restoration alive, but without help, we risk losing everything — including the employees who depend on us and the families who need us when disaster strikes.
