Help Us Bring Hiwot Home and Get Her the Care She Desperately Needs
Dear Friends, Family, and Supporters,
With a heavy heart, I reach out to you today for help. My sister, Hiwot Demamu, has been living on the streets for nearly three years, battling deep emotional pain and untreated mental health challenges after a devastating divorce that separated her from her five beloved children.
Hiwot has lived in the U.S. for over 20 years. But the heartbreak she carries has left her isolated, grieving, and lost in visions of her children. Despite many efforts from our family, she continues to decline without the professional help she urgently needs.
We are launching this GoFundMe to:
• Hire a lawyer who can advocate for her legal and medical rights
• Provide mental health support and medical care
• Help stabilize her life so she can begin the journey back to healing, dignity, and hope
Our family has done everything we can, but this is beyond what we can handle alone. We’re asking for your help. Your donation, regardless of size, can make a difference to her.
Please pray for her, share her story, and, if you can, contribute to this urgent cause. Your kindness and compassion mean the world to us.
With gratitude,
Her family and Closed Friends
