Please help my friend Hisham Al-Zaq and his children, who are facing unimaginable hardship in the Gaza Strip.
Here is his statement:
My name is Hisham Al-Zaq from the Shuja'iyya neighborhood in Gaza.
I am a father of four young children (Musab, Ahmed, Judy, and Yousef) and my wife, Nidaa.
Seven months ago, I began a harsh displacement journey from the north of Gaza to the south, a journey filled with hunger, tents, and the loss of the most basic necessities of life. The tragedy was unbearable. But I was the happiest person when we returned to our destroyed home in the Shuja'iyya neighborhood during the ceasefire. Despite the extensive destruction, we cleaned it up and lived in it, feeling comfortable among our family and neighbors.
Unfortunately, this did not last long. The bombing resumed, and the ceasefire ended. We were forced to flee once again after leaflets were dropped ordering the evacuation of the Shuja'iyya neighborhood. We fled to the west of Gaza City – the southern Rimal area – where I now live in a tent with my family.
Today, we are living in tragic conditions.
I lost many of my relatives and cousins.
Today his family can hardly afford food or water, and he must leave the tents just to find signal and reach out for help. This fundraiser is to support Hashem and his children with the essentials they so desperately need , food, water, and basic supplies , while they endure these unbearable conditions. Please if you can, donate. If you are unable to, please support by sharing this gofundme link.
If you would also like to support larger, trusted humanitarian organizations working in Gaza, here are a few options:
• Project HOPE — delivering medical supplies and treatment
• Anera — providing food, medicine, and hygiene items
• International Rescue Committee (IRC) — clean water, sanitation, and protection for families
• CARE — emergency relief, shelter materials, and mental health support
edit: I'm a friend in the U.S. helping a friend in Gaza who is in urgent need. They don't have access to platforms like GoFundMe themselves, so I'm raising funds on their behalf. All money raised will go directly to them to cover essential needs like food, medicine, and daily living expenses.
