Help Hiroko! Dangerous Brain Surgery
Donation protected
I’m writing to ask your help for a dear, dear, precious friend and International Home Missions (IHM) ministry partner, Kayo Omori. Kayo lives with her sister, Hiroko, (on the left side), in Japan. They are extremely close and it is for her that I am writing this much needed request.
Kayo and I have worked together for 23 years, bringing Japanese students to Northern California as a Christian outreach, most often to the Chico area, and placing these children in Christian homes for two-four week periods to minister the Gospel. Many of you have participated in this ministry by hosting these Japanese students.
Recently, Hiroko, who is only 43 years old, has been diagnosed with two brain tumors. She has the second worse kind of brain tumor known to medicine. It is operable, but the process is long and very dangerous. Only one in a million people have this particular kind of brain tumor.
Last week, Hiroko, who is still in the hospital, underwent an extremely painful and dangerous biopsy. Since the biopsy, she has experienced a severe rash over her body that the doctors took pictures of to put in the medical journals (they’ve never seen such a reaction).
Kayo takes part time jobs to help with the household living expenses when she is in Japan, but is not able to work full time so that she can bring the children to America twice and sometimes three times a year. Hiroko, therefore, has been the one who has worked full time to support both of them so that Kayo can be involved with this ministry. As a result, she will be losing her job due to her extended hospitalization.
Hiroko’s surgery is scheduled for some time in early January and she will have to stay in the hospital for three months recovering and under constant observation.
Hiroko’s medical insurance will cover only a small fraction of the total expense of the hospitalization and surgery. Kayo and Hiroko are so loved by all who know them and have lived a life on a shoe string in order to continue this ministry.
Sadly, this December is the last time we will be continuing with IHM.
Anything you can contribute to Kayo and Hiroko during this extremely stressful and scary time will be a blessing. Your gift will mean so much to them and quite honestly, I don’t know what we can do for them without your help.
We know that God is merciful and loving, fully in control of His universe and we trust Him for everything, including our number of days. We are, however, praying for a miracle for Hiroko and ask that you please join us in this prayer. Prayer moves the mighty hand of God!
