Help Hippo Get Treatment for Prostate Cancer

Hi, my name is Hippo. I am the sweetest, bestest bully, according to my mom. I was adopted 2 years ago by a single mom and her teenage daughter. I was abandoned in the streets of Georgia and rear end paralyzed when my mom (Kim) adopted me. I was able to overcome homelessness and paralysis. I was even extensively trained to be an emotional therapy dog.

Unfortunately, this past March, I was just diagnosed with prostate cancer and my family is DEVASTATED. I am young (just 4 years old) and I have pet insurance, so my chances are higher to live a little longer, so my family is going to try everything they can to make sure I'm happy and healthy in my fight against cancer.

Although insurance will cover 90% of my radiation and chemo, unfortunately it doesn't cover my acupuncture, anti cancer diet, supplements, holistic vet visits, or specific ketogenic homemade diet, all of which are unfortunately pricy, but worth it to extend my quality of life. (Please see below for a cost breakdown).

My family would appreciate ANY contribution you can make towards my continued health.

PLEASE don't contribute if you are in a tight spot financially, as many of us are, and instead share this with an animal lover who has the means to donate- as I have donated hundreds to other similar causes. I believe in the kindheartedness of people and community.

The total for this donation amount was calculated costs for 9-12 months, which is my "expected" prognosis. If I am not in pain and still wagging my tail at that time, the amount will be updated. If I do not make it that long, the rest will be used by a service which allows me to pass peacefully at home, grief counseling for my 14 year old human sibling, who is having a hard time right now and if there is any remaining, it will be donated to the dog rescue who found me. Cost breakdown:

Holistic Vet visit (includes acupuncture and Chinese Medicine): $500 per visit (monthly)

Monthly supplements (includes chinese herbs): $600 per month

Pet Ubers to and from treatments: Approx $300 per month (I take the train with him when I can, which is not always possible)

Co-pays for chemotherapy and check ups as well as medications: Between $400- $700 per month.

Bringing him buddhist temple to be bathed in healing chants- free and I'm very thankful for this.
