Hippo needs our help.
He has an aggressive tumor on his leg. We have already tried surgery to remove it and it’s grown back bigger and badder in a few months, so the only real chance to stop it from spreading is to amputate the leg.
This has been very hard to process. The good news is that apparently dogs adapt amazingly well to three legs, and our vets believe that if the tumor is removed soon, Hippo can still have some great years ahead of him. Ideally he also does one round of chemotherapy after his leg is removed.
The surgery and medical care are obviously stupid expensive, so we’re reaching out to the community. Like many people right now, we know times are tough and we hesitated to ask for help. There are so many important causes and people in need. But our dog park friends insist that this is what gofundme is for.
We are trying to raise as much as we can to cover it, here is a breakdown of the costs:
Chest X-rays/ ultrasound: $3,000
Amputation: $9,000
Chemotherapy: $9,000
If you’re able to donate, thank you. Or sharing this page helps a lot too, thank you. And of course, sending good vibes is always helpful too, thank you!
