UPDATE:
We wanted to share an important update to the story. Previously, we stated the vehicle had not been recovered. However, my dad received a call from a junk yard informing him that they had his truck. There was no trailer or equipment with it—just the truck itself. He went down immediately to recover whatever he could.
When he arrived, they refused to let him even see the truck until he paid $640 to release it. After paying, they finally brought him to the vehicle… only for him to discover it couldn’t be removed from the property at all. The windshield was smashed out, the tires were gone, and the truck had been gutted. The junk yard refused to refund the money he had just paid, but offered to give him $400 to take the truck back. In the end, he effectively paid $240 just to look at what was left of his destroyed truck.
Another blow in what has already been a streak of terrible luck.
The good news is that as of yesterday, we were able to get him back on the road with a new used truck. But he still has a long way to go—he has to replace much of his stolen equipment, including paying off the ride-on mower that was taken.
PLEASE KEEP SHARING, and if you’re able, please donate. Every single dollar truly helps. Thank you all so much for the support.
Hello, my name is Donnette, and I’m reaching out on behalf of my father, Hipolito a.k.a. Sam. Many in our community know him as a hardworking man with a heart of gold. He’s the first to help anyone in need and would literally give you the shirt off his back.
Unfortunately, my father is facing a devastating situation. For the third time, his work tools and equipment have been stolen from right in front of his home in Taylor, MI. This most recent theft was the worst yet—his truck, trailer, and every tool he owns were taken, including his new John Deere riding mower that he was still making payments on. These aren’t just possessions; they’re the tools he relies on to earn a living and to support himself and his disabled wife.
We are doing everything we can to work with authorities and recover what was taken, but so far we have not been successful. As a family, we are heartbroken watching him struggle to rebuild after each loss.
My father has spent his life helping others. Now, I’m hoping we can come together to help him. Our goal is to raise enough funds for him to replace his truck, mower, and essential tools so he can get back to work and regain his independence.
If you are able to donate—even a small amount—it would mean the world to our family. If you can’t donate, sharing this fundraiser would be an incredible help.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your kindness, support, and compassion.
