Help Hipolito Sanchez Heal

IT'S OUR TURN
As most of you know, Hipolito Sanchez of Slow Motion For Meat  better known as “The Mayor” has dedicated his life to the community of Chicago. Whether he’s cooking around the clock in 90 degree weather pit side to feed our families, quietly hustling behind the scenes to support a community in need (every single year), competing in live fire events in a culinary battle with the BBQ masters of the southern states or doing a favor for you out of the goodness of his own being, Hipolito's every move is made with his heart.

In addition to the hardships our food and entertainment industries have faced this year Hipolito has been fighting for his health. Thanks to the collective efforts of his close friends and family he was carried into the hospital just in time to literally save his life.

When hospitalized, early last week, he was monitored around the clock until he was stable enough to endure heart surgery. Rest assured he will make a full recovery and is fighting the good fight, as we all knew he would, but this is just the beginning.

Thankfully covid is not a part of this story. We are so grateful we were not robbed of another member of our community. In the spirit of our gratefulness we’re asking for your help, because we know Mayor Sanchez would not. The road to recovery is a battle in itself. It takes every ounce of your spirit, physical strength, mental health and hustle. This is where we come in.

Today we are asking you to please step up to help in any way you can, no donation is too small, to provide Hipo with the space and peace of mind needed to focus on his journey to recovery without the burden of worry to keep a roof over his head and pay off mounting medical bills.

We would've loved to host a fundraising event full of music, food, art and suds, but in the spirit of keeping everyone safe, this is our next best option. We are all facing hardships in our own ways but I have faith that our community will come together in this time of need so we can repay our dues to a crucial member of our community.

Please share this far and wide and let’s help our Chef get back on his feet so he can get back to doing what he loves.
