Goal: $10,000 for Housing Accommodations for TWO Teams in Orange County, California

Last year, through the generosity of our supporters (like you), Hilo Hammahz Water Polo Club was able to take a group of young female athletes to our club’s first-ever Junior Olympics. That experience opened doors, created memories, and helped our athletes see what is possible when hard work is matched with community support.

Since then, our club has experienced tremendous growth. Because of the continued support from our community, we are now registered to take TWO teams to the USA Water Polo Junior Olympics in Orange County, California!

Hilo Hammahz Water Polo Club is a grassroots nonprofit organization based on the Big Island of Hawai‘i. Our club was founded with a mission “to create a safe place to empower, equip, and instill in our athletes the skills, values, and life lessons necessary for success — both in and out of the water — so that they may reach their full potential as athletes and individuals through the sport of water polo.”

Everything we do as a program is centered around creating opportunities for our athletes while building character, accountability, leadership, and community through sport.

We are proud to operate as a completely cost-free program. In a community where financial hardship can be a real barrier to participation, our goal is simple: no athlete is turned away because of inability to pay. This program exists because of volunteer efforts, fundraising, and community support.

This year, the money raised through this GoFundMe will go directly toward housing accommodations for our athletes and coaches during Junior Olympics. With two teams traveling, our needs have grown — but so has the opportunity to impact even more young athletes.
